History
After 20 years of work in Brugg Kabel AG as a development engineer, Jan Osley in cooperation with his son Martin Osley in 1991 the MOS Engineering AG founded.
From the very beginning has MOS Engineering AG concentred in close cooperation with Brugg Kabel AG on the development   and production of tools for high voltage cable preparation within the range of 10 – 500kV, outer diameter 15 – 180 mm.

The motorized MOS cable peelers series S have become the standard in the cable industry for 25 years.Gain major time savings and replace hard manual work while removing the outer extruded semiconducting layer thanks to the MOS cable peelers.
The MOS cable peeler with electric drive remove the extruded outer semiconducting layer from XLPE-isolated MV- and HV-cables. The five different sizes of the MOS cable peelers cover the entire range of XLPE-isolated MV- and HV-cables between 15 – 180 mm.

Standard functions for motorized MOS Cable Peelers Series S

MOS Cable Peelers Series S: 3 Standard Functions
The motorized MOS cable peelers series S are specially designed for efficient (fast and easy) peeling of XLPE cables for testing with water pipe terminations. The cable peelers are equipped by default with knife head and standard knife.

With this standard system following 3 functions can be carried out:

  1. peel / remove the extruded
    semiconducting layer
  2. peel / remove the PE conductive shield
  3. Grading of the insulation

The cutting depth for all 3 functions can continuously be adjusted
between 0.1 – 5 mm

Options for motorized MOS Cable Peelers Series S

Flat knife for smooth surfaces and a continuous transition between insulation and semiconducting layer.
MOS Engineering has developed the flat knife inclusive head for the mounting of prefabricated joints. The flat blade produces a smooth surface and an optimum transition between the insulating surface and the semiconductor layer, so that further manual finishing is unnecessary or reduced to a minimum.

Stripping of Insulation
The insulation stripping knife inclusive head is designed to strip the entire insulation or only a part of it. The stripping depth can continuously be adjusted between 5 – 40 mm with constant thickness of the shaving. The same knife is suitable for cutting a stepped insulation.

  • The distance between the guide rolls can be extended by lengthening the axes
  • Automatic feed rate of the knife approx. 1 mm per rotation

Motorized MOS Sheath Cutter MS2000 to cut the outer sheathing of HV cables (PE, copper, aluminium, lead).

You may forget about the painstaking and time consuming effort for the sharpening of primary insulation of polymer cables. You will produce every desired cone within 15 to 20 minutes using the MOS-Motorized Penciller in a most convenient and quick way. The result will be a cone of optimal dielectric surface quality and without further need for any surface treatment.

The MOS Penciller brings you the following advantages:

  • The end of the cable is sharpened within 15 to 20 minutes;
  • with the aid of an adjustable guiding slide track, it is possible to produce any desired convex- or concave shape;
  • the positioning- and demounting times of the equipment are very short;

The MOS-Lapping Machine laps for you dielectrically highly valued-, self-vulcanizable tapes quickly and easy: This automatized lapping technique has itself proven for superior joints from 20 to 400 kV compared to wrapping by hand.
Independent from the manual skill of the technician you will obtain precisely defined lapping conditions using the MOS-Lapping Machine. The joint will be of high dielectrical quality.

The MOS – Sleeve Machine for Pressconnectors cuts contours and yields surfaces of superior quality. This guarantees a requirement to be met for a top quality, standardised taped connection.

Forget the painful and time consuming sanding and polishing effort ton cut the edges of pressconnectors for the assembly for electrical jointing. Using the MOS Sleeve Machine for smoothening pressconnectors enables you now to produce a perfectly circular shaped pressconnector within 20 to 30 minutes in an easy and fast manner.
